Week 15

The holiday season is here.... tis' the season :) I can't believe Christmas is this week and in only a few weeks we will be saying our goodbyes to 2013 and welcoming 2014. Next year with this little boy or girl is going to be so EXCITING!! (Yes I am already thinking about it!)

Speaking of a boy or girl...
In 3 weeks we find out the gender of the baby!!! We couldn't be more excited about this, but it feels like an eternity!!!

ANY GUESSES? (I'll be doing a Gender Wives Tale Prediction Survey, just for fun this week)

I personally don't have a preference on the baby, I will be excited no matter what and only want a healthy little one but I'm also looking forward to seeing what's "going on" in there! Our only ultrasound was at 8 weeks, so the last time I saw the baby they looked like a gummy bear. I can't wait to see their little body, face, and arms and legs moving!!!

How far along? 15 Weeks. The baby is the size of an avocado :)

Total weight gain/loss: Loss of 15lbs. Today (Friday December 20th, 2013) at my baby appointment, my doctor started to have slight concern with the fact I am not gaining any weight instead I am losing... so I am scheduled to have another check up in 2 weeks to make sure we are moving UP in the right direction.... (aka: that I am gaining some weight). I am truthfully not concerned for these reasons 1. I am eating healthy and clean 2. My calorie intake is right around what is estimated for what I need (tracking this using myfitnesspal) 3. The baby is very healthy too, heartbeat is 166 :)

Maternity clothes? Not wearing any maternity clothes, still fitting nicely into all my clothes, only issue is my dress pants are getting snug due to my little bump :)

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Sleep during pregnancy ROCKS! I seriously sleep so much better at night minus getting up to pee 3-4 times hahaha.

Best moment this week: Finally having the urge to eat my NORMAL foods.

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? My mind, hahaha. I have something the doctors called "pregnancy brain" which is very common.

Movement: Not yet, I thought I felt something the other day like fluttering, but it could also be my mind playing tricks on me.

Food cravings: Fruit, Sweet Tea, Peppermint :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Starting to get my full appetite back :)

Have you started to show yet: Small baby bump :)

Gender prediction: Will know in t-minus 3 weeks! Any guesses?

Labor Signs: No.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On, actually very big.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Honestly BOTH moody and happy this week... POOR HUBBY!!

Workouts: This week's workouts have been slim to none... starting my new job has left my extremely exhausted all together plus I'm in the mindst of looking for a new gym near out new apartment.

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender of our little munchkin is :)

Picture one : My hubby said "babe your head is in the way of the avocado.."
Picture two: Is the typical look he gets lol.

Week 14

Please excuse the work clothes and looking tired :)

How far along? 14 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Still down 12lbs.

Maternity clothes? Won't lie I bought I few items, but haven't worn them yet. I am still loving my leggings and longer (more forgiving) shirts.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Sleeping good, I started to sleep on my left side (read that's the best side to sleep on during pregnancy), but this was pretty easy for me due to being a natural side sleeper anyway.

Best moment this week: Not feeling nauseous ALL DAY everyday & finally being able to take my prenatal vitamins (interested in the type I take, please ask!) without getting sick :)

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? My energy currently. I seriously could SLEEP for hour and I still feel DRAINED!

Movement: Not yet.

Food cravings: Fruit and Sweet Tea

Anything making you queasy or sick: still Red Meat and Chicken :(

Have you started to show yet: A little bump so far, and I started to have "growing pains" in my lower abdomen where the belly starts to push out to create "the bump".

Gender prediction: Honestly unsure as time goes on, but we should know very soon!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy :)

Weekly Wisdom: You'll have A LOT of people who share pregnancy advice and tips with you, but try not to get annoyed, overwhelmed, or upset about it.... just listen, take it all in and understand their hearts are in the right place just trying to help.

Workouts: Released back to my normal routine, minus leg press and no interval running. I'm back to lifting weights just modifying the amounts I am lifting. Continuing my yoga routines (which I love), it has helped me a lot with flexibility and stress relief. As far as cardio - I've really not been doing much cardio this week.

I can still kinda see my obliques but I think it's almost time to say goodbye to them until next year... no worries I'll still be doing core strengthening exercises (planks, certain yoga postures, squats, lunges, certain cable exercises upper and lower body plus more).
Rocking my Living Proof Gear Tank, Love it! Check them out!

Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment this upcoming week, crossing my fingers to find out the gender :)

FIRST baby purchases
Meet Ellie the Elephant, my husband and I both picked her out :)

AWHH! It's first baby blanket & of course it has an elephant on it :)

XO - Andrea

SURPRISE!!!

Let's pretend today is Monday October 14th, 2013,  hello unbelievable nauseous-ness! Thinking to myself I caught I sick bug from my travels the prior weekend...

Everything changed in only a few days after waking up and going to bed nauseous and suddenly being grossed out by the smell of chicken, red meat, and fish not being able to tolerate the thought of anything green or healthy... my first thought was "am I burnt out from healthy foods?"  The thought of being pregnant never crossed my mind... hard to admit but it is the absolute truth...

Yep.. I am one of those people who didn't realize that I was pregnant until I was nearly 6 weeks along and up until this point I had ABSOLUTELY no symptoms.. no missed period, no sickness, and no unusual fatigue. I was working out regularly and going about my everyday activities.

Friday October 18th, 2013 after wrapping my head around my symptoms and literally just the idea of everything... I decided to  schedule an initial consultation & confirmation appointment (October 29th,2013) where my AWESOME doctor got me in the next day (October 30th,2013) for a ultrasound so that my husband and I could see the heartbeat and have pictures to share with our family when we share our exciting news!

Here's our first photo of Baby Smith

Baby Smith at 8 weeks

Although we were SURPRISED by Baby Smith, my husband and I are beyond excited for our new addition to our family and the next chapter of our lives.

We both firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and all in gods timing :)

Week 13

Hello 2nd Trimester & Goodbye Morning Sickness (wishful thinking) ;)

Outfit : Arden B Pants(teal) and Cardigan(black), Target top (Brown), Scarf & Boots(TJMaxx)

Week by Week Pregnancy Survey

How far along: 13 weeks

Gender: Won't know the gender for a few weeks but my guess is a girl, but no matter all I pray for is a healthy baby.

Weight loss/gain : I am down 12lbs, the doctor is not worried about my weight at this point and instructed me to continue eating as healthy as possible and drinking water. I'm sure most of my loss is muscle mass which saddens me a bit :(

Maternity clothes: Not yet, but I sure am loving leggings

Stretch marks: No, but I am already slathering on mustela cream and using Burts bees momma to bees body butter for my super dry skin.

Belly in or out: in

Sleep: Good :)

Miss anything: Wine, which is odd for me because I'm not even someone who drinks often. Hahaha

Cravings: Cheeseburger (haven't given in to this, yet!) Hahaha

Queasy or Sick: Just queasy from time to time, heightened smells are no joke!!

Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound and appointment in a few weeks.

Sorry I had to play catch up this week with blog posts :) Thank you for understanding :)

Little baby is the size of a Georgia peach :)

Week 12

This week has been FULL of excitement and traveling! My husband and I moved into our new place and I got a new job :) We also traveled to Georgia and North Carolina for Thanksgiving. During our visit we were able to share our baby news with everyone :)

How we told my husband's parents:
I made them Christmas tree ornaments saying " grandparents esp. June 2014" and oh baby!! We're they shocked and excited when they opened them. :)

How we told my parents:
I was so excited and still I was in complete shock I pretty much just said "guess what?! I'm gonna have a baby" & told them all about my appointment. I tell my parents everything so I know they aren't upset or disappointed with the news I just wish I would have been more creative :)

Week by week pregnancy survey:

How far along: 12 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: loss of 6 lbs (mostly muscle I'm sure)

Maternity clothes: No

Stretch marks: No

Sleep: Sleeping better than ever :)

Best moment of the week: Being able to share that my husband and I are going to have a baby with our family and friends :)

Miss anything: Energy, does that count? And the gym :)

Movement: Not yet!

Food cravings: FRUIT!!!!

Anything make you queasy or sick: A lot of different smells but the big one is any type of red meat or chicken.

Have you started to show yet? A little bump - basically looks like I ate a few too many doughnuts ;)

Gender prediction: Girl

Labor signs: No

Happy or Moody : depending of the day and moment,  these hormones are out of control. Lol.
Weekly wisdom: Enjoy every moment of pregnancy because so many women would do anything to experience this blessing that aren't able to, so even during those tough sick moments remember to be THANKFUL!!!

Workouts: Very limited due to no energy and not able to eat normally. However I've been enjoying doing yoga the past few weeks. Hoping to get back to the gym in the next week or two.
Looking forward to: Getting a bigger bump and finding out the gender.

Outfit : Shirt and Tank (Old Navy), Leggings (Victoria Secret), Boots (TJMaxx)

 12 weeks :)
